Speed up your Kids Toy Car

First things first.  By even just reading this document you are putting yourself liable for attempting to speed up your kids electric car.  What are you crazy?  Its your kids!  Why on Earth would you want to put them in harms way!  Reading this document any further clears any one and everyone except for your self taking your own responsibilty for what your doing.  Remember that giving too much voltage to these motors may just cause them to catch fire!  Not a good idea since your kids sit on this huh?   So just read it, do not attempt it.

Ok, so removing the seat we see the electronics...  There is a motor on each wheel and then the wiring between the battery, the direction switch and the motors.  Pretty simple.

Remove the switch box and open it.  Inside you will see how the switch works.  Pretty simple, but if you notice the second switch is never used.  Strange.

Use a drill and drill out the channel so the second switch can be used.

Reassemble the unit and your done!  Thats it!

Its pretty basic.  I am guessing that they have other simular cars for older kids when they just use all of the same internals and just limit it with this handle on the switch box.  Probably cheaper in the long run for them.

If you follow the wiring diagram, the slow button puts the motors in parallel which splits the voltage in half.  A 12v battery with two motors in parallel means 6v's each.  The other switch which we just turned on gives the full 12v to each motor!  The thing that I am not aware of is:

- Can these motors take more then 6v?
