EasyStar RC Plane Stuck in a tree

Here is the story, I have a brand new Multiplex Easy Star RC Plane.  I have modified with lights, carbon fiber, bigger prop, bigger battery... etc...  Lets face it, I have spent some time and money on this project.  Its time for my first night flight.  I have added lights to the tail and the wings to help me see your plane in flight and tried to make it so I can figure out if what direction the plane is going.  Red on the left side of the craft... Green on the other, copied that from real planes.

Its pitch black at the local park, just lights from the oncoming cars.  I hit the throttle and its airborne!   Everything went great!  I kept it close until I get a little braver with flying at night, in fact I spent most of the flight just orienting the direction of the plane.  This is where the trouble started.

Flying over head I remember that I only went in a counter clockwise direction.  Always looked at the red side of the plane.  In fact I thought I was getting pretty good flying in close and then soaring it back up high above (In fact a couple cars stopped to see what was going on).

The second sign of trouble was I didnt charge the battery fully.  In my excitment I figured "Its close enough!"  High above the skys was my plane and I heard the motor starting to go.  Time to land.

I came in for a first attempt and missed, Now the plane is going clockwise, green lights.  "Well thats different..."  My plane flew farther and farther away as I was confused on which way it was flying.  And then the plane disappeared behind a tree.  Gun the throttle and turn one direction a bit was my last thought, and the last thing I heard was the engine and then the plane hitting something.  Not just something though.  It hit a tree.  A tall one.

Could my Easy Star get any higher in that tree!
