NATO phonetic alphabet

Recently I was looking into getting my pilots license.  Fortunately for me, a friend of mine already has his private pilot’s license so I was able to go flying with him and learn some basic stuff.  The first thing I figured I had to learn was the Phonetic Alphabet.  In fact with my job, I give reference codes to people on the phone all the time, why wasn’t I using the Phonetic Alphabet for that?  Here I was just using the first name that came to mind.

Cheat Sheets:

Below is a image you can use as a cheat sheet.  Just cut it out and tape it to your monitor.  Even better I have created a “Google Gadget” which can show the cheat sheet on your iGoogle page.  Click below to add.
